Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine is a system of medicine extending well over three thousand years into antiquity. Using empirical observation and clinical experience, physicians have continually advanced treatment methods in response to developing and new clinical conditions. Within the various branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Herbal medicine has always been considered pre-eminent

Due to the systematic approach and clinical efficiency, Chinese medicine has for centuries strongly influenced the development of traditional medicine throughout central and eastern Asia..

In recent times, Chinese Herbal Medicine has grown rapidly in the West, whilst still forming a major part of primary care in China. Chinese Herbal Medicine is provided in state hospitals alongside Western Medicine.

Chinese Herbal Medicine, as all other aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is based on the principals of Yin and Yang. When these two opposing forces are in harmony health is maintained, when disharmony predominates ill health may arise.

Diagnosis is made by analysis of signs and symptoms including the taking of the pulse and observation of the tongue. This detailed examination enables the root cause and progress of an illness to be assessed. A specific formula is prescribed to suit individual’s requirements in the forms of raw herbs, pills or powders.

All our herbal medicines are from pharmacies controlled by the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) and the RCHM (Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine) to assure the highest quality and our medicines adhere strictly to the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) regulations.

People of all ages and constitution can safely use Chinese Herbal Medicine in combination with ongoing western medical treatment.
